Why does my result feel different than I expected?
Personality tests measure how you typically behave and think, not how you wish to behave. The test may be surfacing tendencies you recognize in hindsight more than in the moment. If a result truly doesn't resonate, it's worth retaking when you're in a calm, reflective state — and answering for how you actually are, not how you'd ideally like to be.
Can I retake the test to get a different result?
Of course — the "reflect again" link on your results page starts fresh. Personality naturally shifts in small ways across time and life stages, so small differences between attempts are expected. A large difference usually means context matters: stress, a recent event, or answering for who you want to be rather than who you are right now.
Do you store my answers or results?
No. All scoring happens entirely in your browser. We never see your answers, and nothing is sent to any server. Your result lives only in the URL you share — and even that contains only the final scores, not individual responses. Read the privacy page for the full picture.

Is LucidTraits based on MBTI?
The 16-type naming convention is inspired by similar frameworks, but LucidTraits is grounded in Big Five (OCEAN) research — the most replicated model in personality psychology. The type codes are a user-friendly layer on top of continuous five-dimension scores. The about page explains the methodology in full.
